Oktoberfest 5K/100 Yard Dash

The Oktoberfest course is well suited for all ability levels. After the race, plan to stick around for giveaways and post race activities. Then get ready to polka, enjoy German food and Oktoberfest activities. The Oktoberfest in Town Center starts after the race. Please be aware of parking and traffic prior to the race.

The 100 Yard Sprint sponsored by Boulder Running Company!!!
This year we will continue with our 100 yard sprint tradition. At the end of the 5k there will be an additional 100 yard sprint. The fastest male & female for this portion will receive a free pair of running shoes of their choice from Boulder Running Company. The 100 yard sprint adds a competitive twist to our 5k. Awards will be presented to the 5k winners as well as the sprint winners. The 100 yard sprint is included in the race fee and is located at the end of the 5k. There will be an additional timing mat where the 5k ends and the 100 yard sprint begins.

Chug & Dash!!!
Calling all beer drinkers!!! We are adding an option to our Oktoberfest 5k / 100 yd Dash. The Chug and Dash!! After crossing the 5k finish line you will have the option of sprinting to the finish line or "pausing" to chug a 10oz beer and continuing on with the 100 yd dash. This is an entirely free option (including the beer), but you must sign in race morning with your picture ID to get your bib marked.

Location: Town Center, 9352 Dorchester Street (The start/finish line is at the Ridgeline/Dorchester intersection. The 100 yard dash will finish in front of Lansdowne Arms.

Parking: Please park in the parking garage or in open spots in the surrounding streets. Some streets may be closed due to the Oktoberfest so you might want to arrive early.

Fees*:

• Early Bird Registration: $25 (ends at 11:59 pm September 10th)
• 2 weeks prior to race registration: $35 (ends at noon September 23rd)
• Race Day Registration: $40 (starts at 11:30 am on race day)

Beer: A sponsor will provide free beer at the race site. Please note that once you enter the Town Center Oktoberfest area away from the race site the beer that they serve is not free.

Beneficiary: Jordan's Angel Foundation. This particular foundation touched our hearts and we would like to help them out as much as we can. Jordan was a 8 year old who lost her precious life to cancer. Here is a note from Jordan's best friend Delaney.
"Hello, my name is Delaney and I am 9 years old. Jordan’s Angel Foundation was created in memory of my BFF (Best Friend Forever). I’m doing the HRCA Oktoberfest 5K in honor of my best friend Jordan. I love her and miss her very much. Because of Jordan, I know a lot about love and friendship, but I also know a lot about what kids with cancer go through and how much courage they have and I know about what cancer can do to a family too. Jordan will always be a part of me because she will always live in my heart and I will love her forever. I want to fundraise for Jordan’s Angel Foundation because they help to take care of families and kids with cancer. So, I decided to start a team for the run - to fundraise for Jordan’s Angel Foundation by getting as many people to do the run as I can and also by getting people to sponsor our team.
